Karen Heidler Demonstration

I’ve always loved to draw.  I grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania. I majored in fine art at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (Mount Vernon, Ohio), graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I had a dream come true to work at the Nazarene Publishing House in the art department the summer I graduated from college.

I started painting watercolours in earnest in 2002 when a friend handed me a flyer for a small art show in Kansas City, Missouri where I lived at the time. Since then I’ve landed in Spring Hill, Florida and have been carving out time to paint when I’m not doing graphic design or spending time with my family.

Karen was a first place Award winner in the IWM2024 Contest. She now rightfully claims her place amongst the Invited Masters for IWM2026.
