Pasqualino Fracasso, Italy

“I am an eclectic watercolourist regarding my choice of subjects and styles. I love influencing traditional watercolour with abstract and modern solutions which I have acquired from other media, techniques, and materials. My vision of watercolour is that the painter has to play on the opposites, new and old, chromatic dynamism, free brushstrokes and well defined shapes.

I was born in 1973 and am an Aerospatiale engineer by trade. I am a self- taught and began to exhibit on a national level in 2008. In 2010 I became a member of the Italian Watercolour Society (AIA) and the National Watercolour Society (NWS) in the USA. Soon after that I began to exhibit internationally and started to win awards in the USA. Since 2012 I have been entered into the international circuit by exhibiting in the best shows by contested selection or by invitation. In 2015 I exhibited at the Shenzhen International Watercolour Biennial in China, the Salon International de Belgique in Brussels and the NWS International exhibition in Los Angeles. I have been teaching watercolour courses in Aosta Valley Italy where I have lived for the last four years and also tutor at other workshops across Europe .As a self-taught watercolourist I have developed my technique through studying the great watercolour masters, many of those are in this Lilleshall Show. I believe it’s important to know the classics to be able to go in other directions.”

2024 will be Pasqualino’s third appearance at the International Watercolour Masters Exhibition. He will be doing a live TV Demo and also running a one day workshop.
