The whole of the IWM Team is saddened to hear the terrible news that our good friend and IWM Master Wyn Ericson (USA) has passed away after a very short illness.

Wyn Ericson was not only a gifted artist but also a wonderful human being. He won a first place Award in the IWM2024 Contest with an outstanding painting of his wife Chelsea Ericson. After visiting the show and celebrating his achievement he went on to achieve celebrity status in the watercolour world. IWM was the launch pad that gave him the confidence to try and make his way in the art world, and since that time he has achieved a lot. He was very much looking forward to exhibiting in IWM2026 and we hope to have a memorial Wyn Ericson exhibit in the show.

Our heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife Chelsea and their young children, and also his parents who accompanied him on his great adventure to England at IWM in 2024.

Wyn will be sadly missed.
