IWM2026 ; The world’s elite watercolour Masters together in an inspirational exhibition of contemporary watercolour painting at Lilleshall Hall England
International Watercolour Masters returns to the UK in May 2026 to a spectacular venue, Lilleshall Hall, Shropshire.TF10 9AT
In the 17th and 18th Centuries the great English artists of the past – JMW Turner, Girtin, David Cox, Walter Langley RI, and others took watercolour painting to the world, in May 2026 the world’s elite watercolour Masters will return to watercolour’s historic home.

After the incredible success of previous IWM exhibitions the 2026 show has been greatly expanded and will feature 80 artists from as far afield as China, Uruguay, Australia, Brazil, and the USA, bringing their work together under one roof for ten exhilarating days of breath-taking inspiration. Each painting exemplifies the atmosphere, drama, and versatility of this alluring medium. Every show day there will be a range of practical demonstrations given by the Masters included in your entrance ticket.
 Masters will also host workshops bookable separately via the IWM web.
The event is being organised by David Poxon, an elected member of the prestigious RI (Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours) and the NWS (National Watercolour Society of America).
He says, “International Watercolour Masters 2026 will deliver the world’s greatest living contemporary watercolour master’s for your pleasure, a feast for the eyes and imagination.”

The internationally renowned artists and experienced tutors include Mexican maestro Patricia Guzman, Italian legend Pasqualino Fracasso, Joe Dowden, Brazilian Eudes Correia, Pablo Ruben from Spain, Cesc Farre, Korean Maestro Jung Hun Sung, and from Peru Jorge Corpuna and Nicolas Lopez plus a host of other world famous watercolour stars.

At iwm2026 there will be 22 workshops running alongside the main exhibition. Workshops are situated adjacent to the main IWM Arena, in special teaching rooms. Workshops must be booked in advance.
In the Main Arena itself there will be the Masters Exhibition featuring 150 masterpieces, and the top 200 winners of the IWM Contest.
IWM is known the world over for its first-class organisation and presentation of paintings
An IWM innovation launched at the 2024 show was a virtual exhibition featuring 200 Rising star paintings, chosen from the Contest entries. Their paintings were projected onto a giant screen situated in the main exhibition. The 2026 show will repeat this format which was a great success. Also new was the launch of IWM TV. This is a pay to view platform which broadcast the entire 10 day festival live to viewers from all over the world. Every show day at least 3 live Masters one hour demonstrations are staged, all running to a strict timetable. These demos are viewed by the live audience in the seated IWM Arena ( included with entrance ticket) , and the IWM TV audience. Various packages enable viewers to relive these demonstrations for up to to 12 months.

Lilleshall Hall is set in English Heritage Grade II listed grounds and gardens complete with woodland walks and nature trails, which will make for a great day out. All facilities including hotel, accommodation, free parking and café are at the venue.
