2-Day Watercolour Workshop: Painting the Female Figure

DAY 1 – Foundations & Artistic Language

10:00 – 16:00
This day is focused on understanding the female figure — not only in terms of structure, but as an expressive, emotional form.

What we’ll cover:

Basic proportions & structure of the female figure
Gesture and movement – how to suggest life and rhythm in a few lines
Color theory and palette choices for figurative work
Essential watercolor techniques – wet-on-wet, glazing, lifting, and more
Step-by-step studies – from sketches to more complete compositions

This is a day of exploration and preparation. You’ll gain tools, visual language, and confidence for working from life on Day 2.

DAY 2 – Live Model & Expressive Study

10:00 – 16:00

We’ll be working with a nude female model, studying the body in motion and at rest. This session is artistic, and focused on form, light, and expression.

What to expect:

Warm-up sessions with short poses (5–15 minutes)
Anatomy & simplification – understanding what to keep and what to leave out
Compositional choices – how to build a painting around a mood or gesture
One long pose (2.5–3 hours) – a full watercolour study from life
Feedback & group discussion

This is a unique opportunity to deeply connect with the figure, to loosen up, explore expression, and elevate your watercolour practice. You’ll gain both solid technique and intuitive freedom — all in a supportive, professional environment.
