The language of WATER

Using the Language of the Water Nicolas will explore the fundamental resources to figure out the meaning of water inside the landscape. He will draw some basic architectural lines directly on the paper with his brush to avoid too much detail and rigidity in the composition. He will show you how to allow the water to simplify the elements in your compositions.  In this workshop you will paint together with him in a creative respectful dialogue and create the most amazing textural landscapes.

You will learn to understand the importance of appropriate materials, especially water, as a key element in the interpretation of your paintings.

Find out how to synthesise your drawing and watercolour application  by exploring transparency and tonal values.

All elements of composition and how to interpret and create the exceptional textural effects that Nicolas has made his signature style will be studied in detail.

Nicolas will address and demonstrate the architectural landscape and guide you through its various components (composition, perspective and distribution)

He will lead you through a series of intensive exercises in small formats (atmospheric perspective, planes, synthesis, etc.).

Together you will develop as a final project a painting of half sheet (55×38 cm) using all that you have learned during this exceptional teaching course.
